David was always a hard worker.  He had a paper round when he was at school which Mark then took over and several years later so did Julie.  When he was at university he used to come home in the holidays and go round doing peoples gardens to earn a bit of extra money.  He also used to hitch hike home from uni (maybe to save money!)  He also worked part time in the Co-op in Whitehaven.
